1.5 A History of Shred

This course is unashamedly an exploration into metal guitar, and as such we will focus in on players from the rock and metal genre. So whilst players such as Django Reinhardt, Les Paul, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Alvin Lee, Eric Clapton - and other colossus in the history of guitar playing - are worthy of investigation for any serious practitioner of the six string, it is within the worlds of hard rock and metal that we will focus on – a few excursions into ‘fusion’ notwithstanding.
